My passion is witnessing the resiliency of the human spirit and fostering recovery by creating a supportive environment for you to succeed. I believe that the therapy and coaching process is one of collaboration and focus-driven outcomes. My intention is to assist you in moving toward your optimal health by finding the path that your highest consciousness chooses.
I appreciate each individual as a whole person including desire for change, life experience, personal values, preferences, balance, and overall state of health. I enjoy helping others to navigate an increasingly complicated health care system, drawing from conventional and holistic venues for effective treatment approaches. My own journey in integrative medicine began over eighteen years ago when I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. I partnered with a holistic physician and have treated my issues through integrative channels since that time. Through experience, I learned that examining mental and physical health in isolation is not the answer for optimal well-being. Using only conventional care felt like trying to absorb a hurricane with a washcloth. Integrative medicine helped me manage the storm effectively. I invite you to explore what integrative care can do for you.
In terms of my educational background, I am a Certified Integrative Health coach through Duke Integrative Medicine. I have a BA in psychology, Master of Social Work and I am fully licensed in Clinical Social Work. I have nearly twenty years of experience working in mental health. For the past sixteen years I have worked in various outpatient clinic settings treating a variety of mental health issues with a primary focus on Borderline Personality Disorder. I continue to provide psychotherapy services in private practice and I find that coaching enhances this process. Perhaps you are struggling to overcome a degenerative disease; perhaps you are recovering from mental illness; perhaps you simply desire to overcome an obstacle that stands in your way of progress: my top priority is to connect you with the resources you need.
